my 2nd home
here are some behind the scenes pics from a recent shoot.
the setting is in and around a beautiful little vacant cottage a few doors down from my house.
from the moment that I spied this cottage, nearly two years ago, I was in love with its simple charms.
the house itself is a darling little cedar shake box complete with pretty paned windows, dark hardwood floors and a black laquered claw foot tub.
it my dream world this is where i would go to create, sip tea, dance to my favorite girly music and read under the big trees.
I wanted to create a mini version of this fantasy on film.
i hope you enjoy the outtakes!
I will let you know when the professional images are up on my website.

my daily snapshots
these images are taken from behind the scenes of a recent photo-shoot I styled for new Portland based boutique golden rule's marketing materials.
we shot three concepts; vintage silks, legal lolita, and 80's hot momma.
This is a very inventive boutique which classifies itself as, "Golden Rule is a social experiment in creativity and commerce. Each month we curate a unique showcase of furniture, fashion, art, artifacts, music and miscellany to complement the art on our gallery walls. We are an inclusive space, welcoming the goods and services of both emerging and established designers, cosigners, artists and subject-area specialists from near and afar."
as you can imagine I was in heaven!
loads of beautiful vintage clothes, the shop owner's incredible house as our location, and six gorgeous models as our canvas.
i will be posting the real photos soon, but until then please enjoy this sneak peak.

svetlana for grazia
it seems that every magazine, lookbook and photographer has fallen in love with farming.
and how could they not?
the romanticized notion of being isolated and self sufficient on a beautiful piece of land surrounded by gorgeous, rustic buildings and dilapidated farm equipment is, for many of us, a dream come true.
unfortunately, many of these spreads feel contrived and forced.
with the styling too grand, the farm too new, and models too posh.
This gorgeous layout however manages to get the styling, lighting, casting and locales just right.
if every farm looked like this one, perhaps more of us would be drawn towards this career.
if only in our dreams...
