these images are from the first day of our roadtrip south to sunny california

while we did have the option of sleeping in our rented tent trailer this first night, the snow and the broken battery and the lack of power or heat within the trailer detered us.

luckily my dear sweet grandpa has an incredible friend in Ashland who graciously gave us her guest bedroom.

margie is a prolific artist with an eye for beauty that is unmatched.

her ranch is a sprawling estate full of old, weathered, loved and re-used objects, buildings, and artwork

the tiny outbuilding pictured above was purchased from a nearby farm for $6 + the cost of moving it.

so worth it! the interior is gorgeous, and I am now on the hunt for my own giant bees next chandelier.
